CCTV of two men has been released by detectives probing a serious attack in a city centre street.

A 29-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries in August last year after he was attacked by two men in Glasgow's Sauchiehall Street.

The incident happened at around 11.20pm on Tuesday August 4. Officers have been hunting the attackers since and have now released CCTV images of two men.

Police are keen to speak to the men shown in the images as they believe that they may be able to assist with their enquiries.

One man is described as being black and one male possibly Asian or Eastern European and in their late 20s or early 30s.

At the time of the incident, one of the males is described as wearing a grey hooded top, blue denim jeans and a distinctive black and red baseball cap. They were understood to be in the company of two females.

Detective constable Jamie Macleod, Greater Glasgow CID, said: "This type of activity at a city centre event cannot be tolerated and we seek the assistance of the public in tracking down those responsible.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Greater Glasgow Police on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be passed anonymously."
