World’s tallest hedge gets trim for first time in 20 years

The Meikleour Beech Hedge in Perthshire is more than 270 years old and has links with the Jacobites.

Left to ‘grow to the heavens’ in memory of those who died in the Jacobite rebellion, the Meikleour Beech Hedge in Perthshire is now the tallest in the world.

For the first time in 20 years, it has been given a bit of a makeover.
