Woolly world: Knitters create giant globe during lockdown

The Deeside Knitwits have joined together knitted squares to create the planet earth.

A group of knitters in Aberdeenshire have been keeping busy during the coronavirus lockdown by creating a giant globe.

The Deeside Knitwits group in Braemar joined together to make the woolly world masterpiece over the space of two weeks.

The globe features dozens of knitted squares to make up the oceans and continents, with details such as waves added by each crafter.
