What is social distancing like for the visually impaired?

If you can't see other people and rely on your sense of touch to navigate - life outside lockdown can be tricky.

Most people have been enjoying more freedom as the lockdown begins to ease but, for those who are visually impaired, measures to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 can make life difficult.

Jonathan Attenborough and his guide dog Sam are finding everyday tasks more complicated.

Jonathan explained guide dogs are trained to walk in straight lines and are not capable of keeping a two-metre distance from others as required.

He is asking people to make their presence known as they approach a visually impaired person to make social distance easier for them.
