Residents of the Banana Flats in Edinburgh showed solidarity with NHS workers on the frontline in the fight against coronavirus by belting out the classic anthem ‘Sunshine on Leith’.
Footage filmed from the Borough restaurant showed people singing on their balconies – a scene that has become familiar in countries across Europe that have gone into lockdown such as Italy and Spain
Scots have been advised to follow social distancing measures in a bid to prevent coronavirus from spreading and to ease pressure on the NHS.
Organisers of the Leith singalong said it was intended to lift community spirits.
