Scot stranded in Australia amid pandemic asks Government for help

A Glaswegian woman is stuck in Australia due to the coronavirus and asks the Government to bring her home.

Laura Gillies from Glasgow left the UK in January to enjoy a backpacking trip across Asia, but is now stuck in Australia as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

Due to the fast spread of the killer virus, flights to the UK have been cancelled and she is unable to return home.

Laura says hotels and hostels across Australia are starting to shut and she doesn’t have the money to wait for the pandemic, created by COVID-19, to pass.

She shares a video of herself in which she asks the British Government to hear her plea and bring her – and other Britons stranded around the world – home.
