Nine-year-old starts cake bake chain for those in isolation

Lottie Freeman is encouraging everyone to pop on their aprons and bake to help others.

Lottie Freeman, whose mother works for the NHS in Scotland, has been diligently baking cakes to help bring a smile to those isolated by the Covid-19 outbreak.

For every cake she bakes and gifts on – another baker is then encouraged to pick up the challenge and go on to bake for someone else in a glorious long chain of cakey goodness.

Some of Lottie’s star banana muffins have already been gifted to the emergency services.

Her idea to ‘bake-a-cake-for-someone-elses-sake’ has also raised vital funds for Maggies cancer charity, which this week opened its Edinburgh centre to offer respite to NHS staff on the frontline of the coronavirus battle.
