A man attracted a curious pine marten during a walk on Cairn O’Mount near Banchory.
Luke Liddle started mimicking the sound of its prey in distress and the little animal got closer to have a look.
Pine martens are quite difficult to spot and Luke said: “I’ve lived in the area for seven years and only ever seen one other before.”
