Health centre produces face shields for frontline workers

In the past week the SMART Centre in Edinburgh have made around 600 splash visors per day.

Health centre workers are using their time and facilities to produce face shields to help frontline staff combatting coronavirus.

The South-East Mobility and Rehabilitation Technology (SMART) Centre is an outpatient hub for orthotic and prosthetic patients, however, due to the Covid-19 outbreak, staff have had to postpone all non-emergency appointments.

The centre’s workshop technicians and clinical scientists found a way to make face shields for frontline key workers.

In the last week staff have produced around 600 splash visors per day.
