A woman who was forced to shield through lockdown after cancer treatment has been able to see her family again.
Helen Riley received a letter asking her to shield from others at the start of lockdown in March.
She fell into the shielding category after previously having received treatment for breast cancer.
Initially, she struggled being separated from family and friends for so long.
Helen told STV News: “I’ve got quite a circle of friends that I like to see, and you’re stuck. There’s nothing you can do.”
New rules on shielding mean that Helen is now free to form a ‘extended household group’ with one other household, as well as travel more than five miles from her home.
