A former paratrooper is self-isolating on an uninhabited island after his bid to walk the UK coastline was halted due to the coronavirus lockdown.
Chris Lewis challenge began in 2017 with an aim to raise 100k for SSAFA, the Armed forces charity.
Since leaving the army he’d suffered from depression and anxiety and had been made homeless.
After arriving in Shetland his walk was instantly paused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
He’s now self-isolating on Hildasay, an uninhabited island in the west of Shetland and is staying in an empty shepherd’s house with no water or electricity.
Since the lockdown, Chris has smashed his original target of £100,000 as news of his epic journey has spread.
He hopes to resume his walk and raise even more money after the lockdown is eased.
