Creative hillwalker explores and camps in own garden

Shelley Gilmour has been spending her lockdown days going on pretend adventures in her own garden.

A creative hillwalker has been spending her lockdown days exploring, camping, and walking around her garden.

Shelley Gilmour, from Fife, has been posting weekly updates of her fake adventures on her Facebook page to keep herself busy and to entertain others during a difficult time.

The 39-year-old said her passion for hiking was instilled in her by her father.

“His love of the mountains and all things Scottish really inspired me to get out and explore.”

She joined the Am Binnein Hillwalking Club in 2014 and said to have travelled the country walking with them ever since.

Shelley admitted she is creating the videos to keep her kit in use, to keep herself busy and to cheer people up – as she believes that: “a wee bit of humour goes a long way!”

She has been posting each video on the Scottish Hillwalking and Wild Camping Facebook page where she has been getting a lot of positive feedback.
