Baby chimpanzee enjoys cuddles with mum at Edinburgh Zoo

Five-month-old Masindi can be visited at the city zoo as lockdown restrictions have eased.

A five-month-old chimpanzee has been spotted enjoying cuddles with her mum at Edinburgh Zoo.

Masindi, who was born just before lockdown, is now bigger and more confident, despite being seen hiding behind her mother.

The youngster shares her name with the nearest town to the Budongo Conservation Field Station in Uganda where RZSS funds vital conservation efforts for the species.

The zoo has recently reopened to visitors after the lockdown and Masindi can be spotted in the outdoor area of the Budongo Trail.
