Adorable seal pup making progress despite losing mum

The premature pup is seeking comfort and reassurance at the Hillswick Wildlife Sanctuary.

A seal pup who lost his mum at an early age is now being looked after at the Hillswick Wildlife Sanctuary.

Dave the premature pup from Leebitten, Sandwick, has been making good progress.

A member of staff said: “He seems to be getting stronger by the day on his herring/porridge cocktail, he is getting more confident and he is becoming more and more vocal.

“The moult that should have taken place in the womb has now begun, and once he’s through that we should see him thrive even more.”

An adorable clip shows little Dave suckling on staff members’ legs, arms or hands to feel some comfort and reassurance after losing his mother so young.
