Youngsters in jail create films of their experiences with crime

The short films are to be shown in secure units and across the Scottish prison service.

Young men and women in custody in Polmont have worked with a charity to create a series of hard hitting films to deter others from following the same path.

One film tells Ryan’s story, who at 15 was selling drugs. Throughout his teenage years, this escalated to holding larger amounts, weapons and cash. By the time he was 18, he was in prison.

His story is just one of many that have been told in the film series, which is shown to others in secure care in a bid to raise awareness of issues such as child exploitation and grooming.
