Young women twice as likely to face mental health issues

The Scottish Government said it is focused on tackling mental health inequalities.

A woman who has struggled with anorexia and anxiety for most of her life has told STV News social media is to blame for a spike in the number of Scots with mental health conditions.

According to the latest census, Scotland is in the grip of a mental health epidemic, which showed young women were twice as likely as men to struggle with their mental wellbeing.

The Scottish Government said it is focused on tackling mental health inequalities.
