The SNP will be heading into the general election with a new party leader and First Minister, after Humza Yousaf dramatically resigned on Monday.
John Swinney is currently the only contender after Kate Forbes stood down on the promise of a signifcant role in his government. Unless another wildcard candidate emerges before Monday, he could be sworn in as early as next week.
