‘We just want justice’: The plea from victims of Post Office scandal

73 Scots are believed to have been wrongly convicted of theft, fraud and false accounting, when a faulty computer system was to blame.

“We just want justice”. The resounding plea from the people wrongly accused of fraud while running post offices around Scotland. An inquiry into the scandal concluded its hearings in Glasgow today, after victims gave harrowing testimonies of the impact on their lives.

73 Scots are believed to have been wrongly convicted of theft, fraud and false accounting, when a faulty computer system was to blame. Those who weren’t prosecuted still had to make up the losses – and attempt to rebuild their reputations. Kaye Nicolson reports.
