Warning comes as the area was placed in the highest level for water scarcity

Farmers in Fife say a ban on using water for their crops would be ‘catastrophic’.

Restrictions on extracting from rivers and burns is in the pipeline. If that goes ahead, growers in the region could lose £1million worth of broccoli and cauliflower a week.
