Waiting times at A&E departments hit another record high

The Scottish Government says more people will be recruited as part of a £600 million plan

Waiting times at Scotland’s accident and emergency departments have hit another high following a sharp rise in the number of people waiting more than 12 hours.

The latest figures show just 55% of patients were seen within the target waiting time of four hours.

Meanwhile, the British Medical Association is calling for “urgent” action to improve staffing in Scotland’s NHS.
