‘Vital’ Grangemouth plant is granted reprieve from closure, say workers

Operators Petro-Ineos want to shut the site down next year.

Workers at Scotland’s only oil refinery say its vital the plant is granted a reprieve from closure, so skills can be retained in the area for future net zero projects.

A report from the Just Transition Commission warns there’s not yet an adequate plan for the site’s evolution to a greener future.
