Val McDemid threated with legal action from Agatha Christie’s Estate

The dispute centres around the 'Queen of Crime' title

Scottish Crime author Val McDemid has been threated with legal action from Agatha Christie’s Estate in a row over the title ‘Queen of Crime’.

Agatha Christie is one of the best-selling novelists in history. McDermid was sent a cease and desist order over the phrase which was trademarked by Christie’s family.

Speaking at the Edinburgh International Book festival, the best-selling author from Kirkcaldy described the move from Christie’s representatives as “pitiful”.
