University staff vote for strike action as fear grow over redundancies

Robert Gordon Univerity aims to cut more than 130 roles at the institution.

Members of the EIS union at Robert Gordon University have voted in favour of strike action over threats of compulsory redundancies.

The move comes after staff were told that more than 135 roles could be lost as the institution looks to make savings across the board.

The university says it has exhausted all other possible actions to mitigate against the potential of compulsory redundancy.
