As some of Scotland’s biggest universities look to cut back spending and reduce staffing levels, unions and higher education bodies say the sector is in financial crisis.
Dundee University is looking to axe up to 700 staff, and unions at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen are to strike over cuts.
All but one of the universities have seen a reduction in international students, and they say more funding from the Scottish Government is needed to make free tuition viable.
