Uniform exchanges helping parents cut back to school costs

STV News went to visit one store at Fort Kinaird to learn how it's helping

It’s that time already – the summer holidays are coming to a close and most pupils are preparing to go back to school next week meaning it’s time for the yearly new uniform shop.

But with costs rising with it costing hundreds of pounds on average to clothe a child for the year, it can be a costly and worrying time for parents.

The Leith Collective have three uniform exchanges across Edinburgh and Glasgow where families can donate, swap and pick up everything from clothes, bags and shoes ahead of the new term.
