Unhealthy snacks could be banned from meal deals under proposals

According to a Scottish government survey 21% of Scots buy a lunch meal deal at least once a week

Supermarkets could be banned from selling crisps and sugary drinks as part of ‘meal deals’ to encourage healthier eating habits.

Plans being considered by the Scottish Government also include a crackdown on unlimited refills in restaurants.

A 12 week consultation period has been launched to give the public a chance to have their say.
