A breast cancer survivor has told STV News she’s facing an “unending wait” for “life changing” reconstruction surgery and says women like her are simply being forgotten by the Scottish Government.

Shareen Gault from Glasgow says she’s been left “disfigured” by a radical mastectomy to remove her right breast and was told it would be at least two years before a surgery date becomes available.

Health secretary Neil Gray has apologised for long waiting times, but said the government is investing £200m to tackle the treatment backlog in its draft budget.
