Decisions around social distancing, travel restrictions and lockdowns made during the Covid-19 pandemic by the UK Government are being scrutinised by the second stage of the Covid inquiry.
In opening remarks today, it heard that Scotland’s then Chief Medical officer Catherine Calderwood learned of the possible devastating impacts of the virus in an email in January 2020.
Evidence will be given in the coming days from key government figures and officials about the handling of the pandemic planning.
