UK Government criticised over new energy strategy

Experts though have welcomed today's carbon announcement

The UK Government has been criticised after it announced its future energy strategy, with campaigners saying it doesn’t go far enough.

But there was some good news for a proposed carbon capture site in the North East, which was described as being ‘best placed’ to get government backing.

The Acorn Project would see carbon ‘captured’ and then stored under the seabed.

Opposition parties say the blueprint lacks detail. But Ministers claim it’ll help reduce bills and meet climate targets.
