The UK Government has been accused of “insulting” the Scottish fishing fleet and having a ‘clear misunderstanding’ of the sector.
The accusation from the Scottish Government comes after it was announced the fleet here would receive £28m of a £360m fund, to help support the industry.
But the UK Rural Affairs Minister has defended the move, and said the Scottish fleet has been given an uplift in quotas after an agreement with the EU.
