A woman who lost her wife to Covid has told the UK inquiry that some families were forced to choose between being with dying relatives or attending their funeral.

The inquiry chair said the circumstances around the death were truly awful.

Meanwhile, it has emerged the separate Scottish Inquiry has cost almost £8 million before its public hearings have started.
