The creation of a Green Freeport for Inverness and the Cromarty Firth has reached a milestone, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the UK and Scottish Governments.
Scottish secretary Douglas Alexander met with deputy first minister Kate Forbes and Freeport partners on Friday to mark the agreement, which will unlock £25m of Government funding.
The Green Freeport will offer tax breaks to renewable energy firms, attracting investment and aims to create more than 11,000 jobs over the next 25 years.
