Uist residents say third of tourism lost due to ferry cancellations

The service returned on Friday, but islanders want assurances it won't be removed again

Residents in South Uist say they’re being forced to make significant changes after losing a third of the peak tourism season due to ferry cancellations.

Cal Mac redeployed the Lord of the Isles from the Lochboisdale to Mallaig route last month.
