Two rare Roman stone altars to go on display in Scotland

Discovered 16 years ago in Musselburgh, the 1,800-year-old sculptures are the only ones of their kind in the country

Two rare Roman stone altars are being prepared to go on display for the first time 16 years after they were discovered beneath Musselburgh Cricket Club in East Lothian.

Thought to have been buried around eighteen hundred years ago, the sculptures are the only examples of their kind ever found in Scotland.
