Two firefighters injured after blaze at Edinburgh flats

Today residents have been pointing the finger at the wooden clad balconies

People living in a block of flats in Edinburgh which was badly damaged in a serious fire overnight have been concerned for years about wooden balconies on the outside of the building – which they say allowed flames to spread.

One hundred residents were safely evacuated when the blaze broke out in the Bonnington area around 4am.

Two firefighters were injured.
