Police in Cumbria investigating a fatal crash in which a man, woman and two children from Glasgow were killed say the car that collided with them was travelling in the wrong direction on the motorway.
A third child was airlifted to hospital in Newcastle where they remain in a serious condition.
Rescue teams have described the incident in which 5 people died, on the M6 as horrific and a devastating scene to come across.
