Twin raising awareness after brother passed away from cancer at 23

Hope Brown believes his age was a factor in the disease going undetected

A woman says opportunities were missed to save her twin brother who died of bowel cancer at the age of 23.

Ryan Brown had a pre-existing condition which putting him at higher risk of developing the disease, but died just 13 days after his cancer was found.

His sister Hope believes it wasn’t picked up earlier because he was so young and is now trying to raise awareness. A spokesperson from the NHS has told STV their “thoughts and sympathies are with the family and have asked the family to get in touch to discuss their concerns”.
