Traffic ground to a virtual halt in Aberdeen and Inverness today during protests about record fuel prices.

Giant tractors and convoys of cars took part, calling on the Chancellor to cut fuel duty.

Some demonstrators spoke of having to reduce their food spending, or even their hot water use, because of rocketing bills. Iain Ramage reports.
