Trade body calls for 40mph HGV limit to be scrapped

Transport Scotland says it's undertaking a National Speed Management Review.

A trade body is calling on the Scottish Government to increase the speed limit for Heavy Goods Vehicles on trunk roads.

The Road Haulage Association says the 40-mile-an-hour limit for HGVs is “polluting and potentially risky”.

It says it should be aligned with the rest of Britain, which has a 50mph limit.
