The Health Secretary has announced targets to reduce long waiting times for planned care

Despite failing to meet the 4 hour A&E waiting time targets for the past 2 years, the Health Secretary insists these targets are achievable.

The Scottish Government is aiming to eradicate waits of more than two years for outpatients at Scottish hospitals by the end of next month.

The Health Secretary Humza Yousaf announced what he described as extremely ambitious targets to reduce long waiting times for planned care.

Opposition parties have accused ministers of massaging the figures. Our Political Correspondent Ewan Petrie reports.
