Teachers walk out on strike in First Minister’s constituency

The Scottish Government says there's simply no more money for pay rises.

More than 10,000 pupils in John Swinney’s constituency were unable to return to school on Monday after the October break – because teachers had walked out in a dispute over pay.

Unison members have started two weeks of industrial action, demanding a better offer than that accepted by two other trade unions.
