Teachers facing ‘moral blackmail’ to do overtime, says union

Teachers in Scotland are facing harmful levels of stress and burnout.

Overworked and under threat of violence, that’s the message from two teaching unions at their annual conferences.

The Scottish Secondary Teachers Association claims excessive workloads are pushing the profession into crisis.

Meanwhile the NASUWT union says “dangerous and disruptive behaviour” in the classroom is only getting worse – but the Scottish Government insists a behaviour action plan is coming.
