Synthetic opioids becoming more common in Scotland, warns report

Annual figures are due to be published next month.

The supply of illegal drugs in Scotland appears increasingly toxic and unpredictable.

A report from Public Health Scotland has warned that powerful synthetic opioids are becoming more common.

However, it also found suspected drug deaths fell between March and May this year compared with the previous three months, and drug-related hospital admissions are also down.
