Swinney meets faith leaders and condemns violent riots

Violence in England has seen hotels housing asylum seekers targeted and set on fire.

The leaders of Scotland’s political parties have united to declare that there is no place for violent conflict on the country’s streets.

They met on the day jail terms started to be handed out to some of those involved in violence in England.

The First Minister also met leaders of faith groups and organisations supporting refugees – one told us asylum seekers are living in fear of what could happen.
