First Minister John Swinney chaired his first cabinet meeting on Friday morning since taking up the position.
He then embarked on a three-stop tour of the country, taking in a visit to a hospital, a railway station and a farm.
His deputy, Kate Forbes, has also been officially sworn in at the Court of Session in Edinburgh.
