Swinney announces £2m funding for carbon capture project

Climate campaigners say carbon capture isn't proven to work.

The First Minister has announced £2m worth of funding to develop a carbon capture and storage site in Aberdeenshire.

John Swinney has been to visit the Acorn project at the St Fergus gas terminal, which hopes to store carbon under the North Sea.

But the plans have been criticised by climate campaigners who say it won’t reduce carbon emissions.
