Transgender people have told STV News the Supreme Court’s ruling on the definition of a woman is a step backwards for their rights and their community.
Judges unanimously ruled yesterday that a woman is defined by biological sex under equality law.
Meanwhile, legal experts say some organisations may now have to make adjustments in line with the new legislation, for example, how to manage single sex spaces.
