Study of cellular ‘light switches’ could illuminate better cancer care

Researchers from the University of Dundee are studying the signals that drive cell division in the hope to discover new treatments.

Scientists at the University of Dundee are embarking on a new multimillion-pound study they hope will reveal the workings of the cellular “light switches” that are a potential cause of cancer.

The research looks at how signals inside our cells flick on and off to keep things working smoothly, and what happens when they don’t function properly.

Experts hope that by finding how this process goes wrong in diseases such as cancer, they could pave the way for better cancer treatments.
