Study finds repeat victims of violence do not report to police

Learning to cope with effects of repeated violence is an every day challenge for victims

Don’t tell and don’t be a victim. Just some of the stigmas associated with discussing violence in our communities.

Now, a study has found that repeat victims of violence don’t report the abuse they suffer to the police, even in cases involving serious injury and hospitalisation.

Factors like poverty, substance abuse and violence in the home all play a role in whether or not victims feel comfortable to come forward.
