Unions are demanding bolder action from politicians when it comes to creating a fairer system of council tax, protecting lower income families by putting the burden on those with higher wealth, to protect public services.
Speaking at the Scottish Trades Union Congress in Dundee, the organisation’s General Secretary, Roz Foyer, accused MSPs of being too timid when it comes to reforming council tax to provide more money for local authorities.
Unions say they will keep piling pressure on politicians to turn their promises into action and plan to host a summit to try to reach agreement across the political divide.
